About the PPG
The purpose of the PPG is to make stronger the relationship between patients and their practices, which is critical to the provision of modern, high-quality general practice. The Patient Participation Group meet at least four times a year with working groups often meeting additionally. The PPG actively support our health promotion open evenings and are present during CQC inspections.

Terms of Reference
The purpose of the PPG is to make stronger the relationship between patients and their practices, which is critical to the provision of modern, high-quality general practice.
Activities the group will strive to undertake include:
Provide constructive feedback on patients’ needs, concerns and interests. Feed back information about the community, in general, which may affect healthcare.
Assist the practice by arranging voluntary groups/support within the community.
Give patients a voice in the organisation, delivery and accessibility of services.
To assist the practice with carrying out and analysing patient surveys as required
Improve communication between the practice and the community, including those in hard to reach groups
Health Education: encourage and support activities within the practice
Promote preventative medicine
Fund-raising for equipment or other facilities to enhance the patient experience
Liaise with other PPGs in the area and attend CCG engagement events
Organistation:
Meetings will be held at least quarterly
The group’s membership shall consist of no more than 12 individuals plus the Partners and Practice Manager.
Registered patients and the carers of registered patients will form the pool eligible for membership. In addition, the Partners and Practice Manager shall also be members of the PPG. To maintain membership each individual member, with the exception of the GP Partners, must attend at least one meeting per year.
The officers shall be elected by the group annually in March. Each member shall have the right to vote, on a one member one vote basis.
The terms of reference shall be reviewed annually in March.
